Instrument typemulti-beam echosounders
Instrument nameKongsberg (Simrad) EM 120 multibeam echosounder
Platform typeship
Data quality processing informationSimrad EM-120 multibeam ecosounder onboard the R/V Hespérides. This system works in deep waters (from 200 to 11,000 m water depth) and operates at frequencies of 12 kHz with a swath range of 150° from 191 beams providing a bathymetric grid-spacing of 25–30 m from ca. 300 to 2800 m water depth. The Simrad dataset was processed using the Caraibes software(IFREMER).
